Well we didn’t have much of a winter in Ohio, did we? Which means you may be kicking on the A/C unit sooner than expected. And for anyone with an old or a finicky A/C unit, you may experience what we call “first-o-thermo-phobia”… (aka the fear of turning down the thermostat for the first time in months because it might not work). In this guide, we’ll delve into the ins and outs of air conditioner repair, offering insights into common issues, longevity of units, and the most vulnerable times for breakdowns.
The lifespan of an air conditioning unit depends on various factors, including the quality of the unit, maintenance practices, and usage patterns. On average, well-maintained air conditioners can last anywhere from 10 to 15 years. However, neglecting regular maintenance or subjecting the unit to excessive wear and tear can significantly shorten its lifespan.
Hold the fireworks. JULY is the #1 month in Ohio for A/C breakdowns. As temperatures soar during the summer months, air conditioners are put to the test, often leading to increased strain on the system. The combination of high demand and heavy usage can exacerbate existing issues or reveal hidden problems, prompting the need for urgent repairs.
